Residue / Renewal
(Ash Panels)
Three panels hold seventy-five small canvases arranged in a measured grid — twenty-five on each. Ash gathered from three farm fires was pressed directly onto the surface, leaving natural imprints of residue and transformation.
The imposed grid introduces a quiet order to the organic material, echoing agricultural systems of division and cultivation. Within this structure, the ash — traditionally returned to the soil to restore balance before replanting — carries both trace and renewal. The panels are intended to be viewed together, carrying the trace of burning, dispersal and return.
