Films

Mexican Waves was created as part of an exchange with my Arts Territory Exchange partner, developed through dialogue across distance and shared process.

The film draws on the rhythm and motion of a wave — a movement that travels across space, carried collectively yet enacted individually. It considers how repeated gestures create momentum, forming patterns that build, shift and disperse over time. Rooted in the landscape in which it was made, the work reflects on connection between territories and on the subtle energy that moves between people and place.

As with much of my practice, the emphasis is less on spectacle and more on the quiet build and release of movement.

Lost – A Journey Through the Fragile Mind

This short film forms part of the installation Lost – A Journey Through the Fragile Mind, and is intended to be experienced within that wider immersive environment.

The work emerged during a period when someone close to me was living with Alzheimer’s. Rather than illustrating the condition directly, the installation and film approach it obliquely — through light, shadow, suspension and fragmentation. Surfaces shift. Forms appear and recede. What seems stable becomes uncertain.

The film acts as a moving trace within the installation — echoing disorientation, repetition and moments of fragile clarity. It is less a narrative than a sensory passage, inviting viewers to inhabit a space where memory loosens and time becomes unsettled.

This short film was made during a period of thinking about transience — about what passes, what lingers and what leaves only a trace.

Filmed outdoors, it holds attention on subtle shifts in light, movement and atmosphere. Nothing dramatic occurs; instead, the work rests in small changes and the quiet inevitability of transformation.

As with much of my practice, the film reflects an interest in impermanence — in allowing materials, weather and time to shape the outcome, and in recognising that presence is often temporary.

Timeline 1, 2 & 3

Created as a study of liminal space, this series lingers within states of transition. The works occupy the space between — neither fully one thing nor another — where perception shifts and time feels suspended.

Rather than defining an outcome, the films invite the viewer to remain within that threshold.
